THE HISTORY OF KÄÄNTÖPIIRI


The Church of a New Generation, Kääntöpiiri is a charismatic Christian church, which has been established based on clear apostolic vision, which God have given to it´s founders, while they were serving in their previous ministries and offices in various churches. As the Vision was getting clearer and stronger, God led these people through difficult but miraculous ways together, like a puzzle, to build a church for the new generation of Revival.

Kääntöpiiri was physically started at the autumn of 2001. Then Eero Seesvaara (now administrative director) announced that he had received a assurance from God, that there is a need for new church at Lahti area. The first public meeting was held at Lahden Seudun Seurakunta (Church of Lahti Region). The place was packed with people. Thou before that there were meetings held at a home of pastor Markku Tenhunen. Markku Tenhunen had received a Vision of modern Christian center, where would be combined a dynamic church with various premises for different use, a Christian kindergarten, a Christian School, a gym, a trend-café and a restaurant.


Alike since 1997 God started to speak to pastor Tommy Rostedt very similarly about a Christian Activities Center for this generation, which would work as a central base to help reaching people who live in this age with modern ways, which would give an enhanced capacity to bring the Gospel to the middle of the lives of the people of today.


Years ago, God started to pour into the heart of Pekka Rimpeläinen a vision of a modern church structure. (see more at G-12 or biographies). As God led these people together a basis began to be ready to be assembled.


Since autumn 2001 the church has been gathered regularly at the premises of Adventist church of Lahti to weekly Celebration at Saturdays. Year 2002 started joyously with a "Celebate Jesus" new year´s event at Lahti Sportshall, which gathered about 1000 visitors hungry for God. Year was changed by celebrating and worshipping God. At 12pm prayers was lifted to the Lord with massive fireworks and trumpet fanfares at the stairs of the Lahti Sportshall. There were given away 197 food packages to unemployed and street people and also 240 liters of peasoup. Delicious!



The Establishing Event of Kääntöpiiri Church

The establishing event was led by pastor Markku Tenhunen. There were first 57 blessed to be members of the congregation.

To the offices of pastor and elders were set; Markku and Anita Tenhunen, Pekka Rimpeläinen, Eero Seesvaara and Tommy Rostedt. The blessing was done by Missionary Jukka Rokka from Lahti Pentecostal Chuch, Pastor Pekka Sahimaa from Lahti Pentecostal Church, Evangelist-Pastor Hannu Vaurula from Kouvola Pentecostal Church and Pastor Martti Ihalainen from Church of Lahti region.



Event was also noticed by local media:

"Probably the most remarkable massevent at Kääntöpiiri at 2002 was "Hearts Ablaze - Update your knowledge and experience of God" event 27th of April at Lahti Sibeliushall. The event reached over thousand participants. At the first session ministered artist Viktor Klimenko and evangelist Hannu Vaurula. The second session brought on stage The Renewal Team and pastor Markku Koivisto from Nokia Revival. At ministry time there was over 200 persons reaching to get fresh touch from God. Tens of people wanted to give their lives to Jesus."
